Story:

With the most powerful slogan “Creating beauty from brutality”, Zambian organisation Mulberry Mongoose transforms poachers' snare traps into unique statement piece jewelry. Snare trap poaching is the biggest killer of iconic wildlife in Southern Africa and responsible for the death of 10’s of thousands of animals each year, among which elephants, lions, leopards and more. Transforming the traps into jewelry is a unique way to ensure the traps are not reclaimed and reused to harm animals.

Besides trap wire, the designs incorporate local materials such as feathers, copper, seeds and  wooden beads to ensure the designs are uniquely African from local, sustainable sources.

The sale of each piece of jewelry donates to wildlife conservation.
